GCY Past Presidents' Native Trees
The Garden Club acknowledges each Past President by planting of a tree native to the Piedmont accompanied by a commemorative plaque. These plantings will be on public properties so that they may be viewed by all. The first year of the project, 2019, saw the planting of 7 trees; in 2020, the club, in cooperation with the Rotary Club of York, planted 15 trees in the triangle across from York Hospital. In 2021 an additional 7 native trees. This project has been completed for all past Presidents have been honored and will continue on a biennial basis to honor the most recent outgoing President.
