The Garden Club of York understands the importance of education in promoting gardening and related topics to the next generation—over the past 20+ years we have given more than $70,000 in scholarships to York County students. In 2023, we awarded $6,000 in scholarships. These scholarships are made possible through fundraising activities and donations by individuals who support the goals and objectives of the Garden Club of York. Donations are always welcome.

Scholarships for academic year 2024-25 will be awarded to qualified students in the following areas:

Biology (excluding Pre-Med)                                              Plant Pathology

Horticulture                                                                            Environmental Sciences

Landscape Architecture                                                      Land Management

Conservation                                                                         Wildlife Sciences

Forestry                                                                                   Urban/Rural Planning

Botany                                                                                     Agriculture

Agronomy                                                                               Floriculture

Our scholarships are open to both high school seniors and college students who are York County residents. The scholarships are awarded based on academic standing, extracurricular activities, applicant’s personal essay and financial need. The Application Window has closed for 2024. **Most students who are eligible for Garden Club of York scholarships are also eligible for $1000 scholarships through the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania (GCFP). Some of our scholarship winners have also won GCFP scholarships. Deadline for GCFP scholarship applications is February 1, 2024. To access the GCFP website, go to www.pagardenclubs.org.
